FAQ

How do I care for my candle?

On your first burn, burn for at least 2 hours to allow the top of the wax to melt completely. This will prevent tunneling in the future.

Definitely trim your wick before your next light, a pair of scissors is just fine. Unlit, trim the charred bit off the top before each use (use your fingers, wick trimmer or scissors).

How can I recycle my candle?

When you start to see the wick bottom, it’s time for a new candle or for you to reuse!

North + Ash Candle jars are reusable and recyclable. Our jars are food-grade glasses which means you can easily heat up the glass to melt down the remaining wax, make sure it’s not hot to touch, peel the metal and sticker on the wick with a spoon (not too forceful) to remove the wick. Wash your glass with soap and water and you’re ready to add it to your cabinet.

I’ve changed my mind, can I edit or cancel my order?

Yes, as long as you haven’t received a shipping email, we can make updates. Send us an email at info@northashcandles.com

What ingredients do you use?

Coconut Soy Wax, a proprietary blend. Fragrance oils are phthalate-free. Cotton Wicks are lead free and zinc free.

Why is the wax sticking to the sides of the jar?

Because of our natural coconut soy wax, this is a natural and normal reaction when our candles burn. This should go away when you continue to burn passed the mid-way point of your jar.

Why does my candle look separated from the glass?

Depending on the weather or temperature, sometimes the wax can slip from the glass. This is normal. Your candle is not damaged and this issue will go away while burning. During the wax pouring process and as the candle sets, sometimes the wax can start to pull away from the glass wall as it cools. Once the candle is lit, it will go away as the glass heats up.
