My Story
North + Ash began as a creative outlet, an activity to slow down, reconnect, and pour meaning into something with my hands. Starting a business was always on my list of things to do in my life, I make it sound so easy, starting the business was easy, continuing is the challenge. What started as my personal curiosity or challenge, “candles are easy, right?”, “low start up cost, plus I love to create stuff!” quickly became something serious and bigger. I found it was a way to tell my stories and share my core memories through scent and give people fragrances that feel like home.
Every candle is designed with a memory, a desire, or a moment in mind. Using premium materials and clean fragrance oils was an non-negotiable. The Why: making candles was spurred off of finding black soot on my mirror and walls and even the ceiling one day while I was cleaning. I panicked and looked at my four year old thinking, “what the hell have we been inhaling?”. Fast forward, 2 months later (I know…), I had a brand, logo, an LLC and six core scents.
But the heart of North + Ash has always been the stories. The nostalgia. The moments that make us pause, my roots and legacy.
Our scents are inspired by real memories, decorating the tree on the first weekend of December, wandering holiday markets, baking family recipes that only appear once a year. These are candles meant to take you somewhere. Somewhere familiar. Somewhere that feels like the hug you’ve yearned for.
North + Ash Candles is affordable yet luxury candles designed for modern homes, spaces for men and women – aesthetic, personal, cozy, and deeply intentional.

Bronx-born, raised in the Hudson Valley, Natalie approaches every challenge with pride and heart. Natalie is Black and Puerto Rican and conducts business with her culture and family in mind. With a background in technology, management, & customer service, Natalie ensures North + Ash customers have the best of the best products and online and in-person shopping experience.
